There’s been many times…
…when I’ve run across things online, and I’ve thought to myself that a lot of other BoyLovers here would also enjoy it [in a benign way].
So much of it, I’ve quietly kept to myself…simply because, sharing it was never essential to anything…and I wanted to avoid causing any sort of grief, either to the person [boy] who originated the material in question…or, to others who might be somehow drawn into conflict, over sharing such content [in places like BoyChat].
In my mind…personal picture galleries, personal profile pages…things put up by people, who weren’t really looking for lots of attention…these fall into that category.
Of course, I treat content on heavy traffic news sites, or expressions from people who are really going out of their way to stir up an issue, differently…but, I still think more calculated about sharing things…is bringing this to a larger audience of BoyLovers [or Girl-Lovers] beneficial, to a point of offsetting any negative impact?…
Even though it is not fundamentally our fault…I still very much dislike it…whenever I learn of a kid [and their family] being harassed by some troublemaker [often a hate filled anti] contacting them, because a link to their website, etc., showed up “here”…and there is some panicked, “big to do”…the site disappears…the kid/family might even assume this as excuse, to claim they’ve “been targeted by pedophiles”…all because of the troublemaker…
I don’t like opening up the door to that…hence, I avoid presenting any practical chance of it happening.
…This is one of the primary reasons, why people have never seen me posting a lot of “fluff” links, to cute boys…
…No…I don’t think ill of people who do that…It’s just a complicated, social issue…and I think, it often is not worth whatever grief results.
Admittedly…I’m thinking more of the kid being linked too, than anyone else…It’s usually unfair to them, getting dragged into that…
…and quite pathetically…there are people who watch [places like BoyChat], who are all to happy to contact any kid/person being linked to from [places like BoyChat]…just to cause such a spectacle.

The following is an e-mail I sent to Rookiee, years ago. It was amidst a conflict he was currently facing, and asking for help in resolving.
Like a number of BoyLovers and Girl-Lovers, Rookiee had taken up editing/writing articles on Wikipedia…one such article, dealt with the BLogo [the symbol of the BoyLover]. Somebody else at Wikipedia became hostile, and disputed any copy of the BLogo being on the Wikipedia server/site, based upon allegations that nobody could establish such as not being a copyright violation…
The BLogo site, itself, makes rather clear, it’s simple terms of allowed use [only in connection with positive BoyLove messages/resources]…but, I suppose, since Wikipedia allegedly adheres to “neutral point of view” articles, only…by strict definition, this disallows a “positive” BoyLove message…and kalos [the originator of the BLogo, and original maintainer of it] has been missing for years…For all we know, kalos may be deceased…No copyright holder is available, to alter or further clarify the BLogo’s terms of use.
A harasser at Wikipedia seized on this, as a way of stopping an article about the BLogo from existing on Wikipedia…Rookiee was trying to get into contact with kalos, or find something that could get around this…Ironically, during this era, the FBI had already taken the BLogo and published it along with a number of other symbols, in a propaganda report about “pedophile symbols”…Despite that this was in direct violation of copyright law, it still set the precedent that a U.S. government agency had published all of these symbols, which I am sure many would argue, gave them credible standing for inclusion at Wikipedia.
I’m sure I’m not alone, in voicing the opinion that objection was raised, merely on the grounds that Rookiee was a BoyLover, himself…Such is the petty, pathetic atmosphere at Wikipedia…and why I think it is a useless resource, for people like us who want to write about our own culture.

FreeSpirits has always (or at least as far back as I recall) encouraged Boylovers to take copies of the BLogo, and proudly display it, on their BL friendly web sites, and other BL friendly projects.
I don’t see where what you mention, could be construed as “out of bounds”, when measured by the above, very liberal, statement of permissible usage.
I would agree, if you said that Kalos really should have been more direct about actually saying, “free license is granted, for usage, etc, etc…”…but, that, honestly, is the intent behind the pages hosting the BLogo, to begin with.
Anyone out there, denying the pattently self evident intent behind these pages, or the BLogo itself (after visiting these pages), has got to be incredibly thick…or, just a complete, nitpicking jackass… :-)
Aside from this, the only other thing I can recommend (since I don’t really “know” Kalos, on a personal level, and could not say how to contact him), is that you contact the free spirits committee.

I don’t know if the Free Spirits Committee officially exists, anymore. Much information on that page is long out of date…and some have complained in the past, that attempts to contact the FSC have been unsuccessful.
…When I get around to it, I am going to upload at least a sample representation of the BLogo collection here, on this blog. This can act as an additional archive, for the BLogo.
…And, yes…It is perfectly within my rights to do such.

Date: April 30, 2012 …As many as 100 high school students walked out of a national journalism conference after an anti-bullying speaker began cursing, attacked the Bible and reportedly called those who refused to listen to his rant “pansy assed.”…
“You can tell the Bible guys in the hall they can come back now because I’m done beating up the Bible,” Savage said as other students hollered and cheered. “It’s funny as someone who is on the receiving end of beatings that are justified by the Bible how pansy-assed people react when you push back.” You know…actually, I agree with the sentiment behind this comment…most especially, the last half of it. What happened there, even if boneheaded for that sort of forum, was actually quite tame. Oh…I’m not real fond of Dan Savage, mind you…and I know he has a tendency to put his foot in his mouth [he's not the best, of good will ambassadors]…and his “It gets better” campaign, is disingenuous, superficial tripe, in my opinion… I think, his criticisms were fair…He just should have known better, than to have been so crass in front of high school students…especially the ones, from religious schools. I think one of the worst aspects about this, especially given my own history [because I had the religious school experience]…is the frustration which comes with knowing, that religious schools typically do nothing to prepare these young people, for the inevitable realities…of both how the bible does get disputed in the real world…and of the realities of the world, itself. These are areas, where I consider my own school from which I graduated, to have been entirely inept…worse, actually…crippling…They did not add to my strength, but subtracted away from it. For years, especially as the religious veil [fog, or however you prefer to phrase it] was lifted from me…I had felt more an more, like a duped patsy, set up for failure in life. …This is generally how I think of my past with religion. Here is another coverage and opinion on this incident…
This one places more focus on how Fox news handles the story [not very scrupulously], and tries to present a more fleshed out view of the event. I still say that Dan Savage should have known to be more mindful…mindful of the fact, that the USA is a “can’t do” society…The moral police, are sure to be all over this kind of thing…Saying “bull shit” in front of teenagers…and equating the bible to bull shit…and calling the ones who walked out, “pansy-assed”… …There is simply no way, that the righteous amongst us, who all know far better than all of the rest of us, about everything imaginable, are going to refrain from crucifying Dan over this. |

Date: April 29, 2012 Firstly, I am placing this here for documentation purposes…This is not a full post, and far more content will be coming out of this project in the future… Secondly, I feel so strongly about what this small group of loud, obnoxious, threatening and malicious people is trying to do to people like myself, that I went through the trouble of refashioning [rewriting] the copyrighted “April’s Law” U.S. federal petition, into a copyright free paraphrase of the “April’s Law” U.S. federal petition…Just so that I/we could have something “concrete” to read, display and reference. Please note, for legal copyright purposes, these are two distinct, separate documents…one being clearly different from the other. This version below of the “April’s Law” petition is hereby released into the public domain, and I encourage people to freely take it, and redistribute it. Note that this is an ongoing campaign, which even after several years has still not been abandoned. A Point of Note: “April’s Law” Petitions, Have Been Copyrighted… Amazing, isn’t it?… …that anyone would even suggest they have “the right”, to radically alter a fundamental protection of the U.S. Constitution, impose extreme penalties in the name of quelling simple speech…and state they intend on imposing draconian laws within “your” world, that are blatantly unconstitutional and would devastate you…just to wrap it all up, by informing you that the very statement of intent, itself, is “copyrighted”… …Inferring, that you are going to steamroll over an entire class of people ["pedophiles" alone, being estimated by some, at two million people in the U.S., or more], by imposing blatantly illegal violations of their civil rights [not to forget, human rights]…and then adding an additional snub, by telling us all that we cant take copies of this nefarious “petition”, redistribute it, or use it in connection with commentary and dispute? …That demands some true gall, and vastly deep levels of contempt, I must say… I don’t know…I’m not terribly familiar with the whole “petition” crowd…so, I really do not know if this is common practice, or not…but, good grief!…How can you even imply engaging the U.S. government, to demand such an extreme [and blatantly illegal] social change, while at the same time trying to tell people, “you cannot take this document, and republish it for any reason”? …I should hope they realize, that if at any point some U.S. congressman or senator wrote a bill based upon this “petition”, the bill would immediately become public domain…It could not be hidden, nor could anyone work to inhibit others from dissecting and disputing it. I generally get the sense, that this is exactly the goal behind this April’s Law “copyright”…While they are trying to collect signatures for it, this may be an intentional obstacle they have erected, in order to cause problems for and harass anyone deciding to fight them. So…in order to avoid violation of the [in my opinion, hokey, burdensome, underhanded and manipulative] “copyright” associated with this “petition”…I have paraphrased the original text, remaining faithful to it’s original intent…This text follows… April’s Law [United States] Federal Petition: We, those who have signed, being both citizens and registered voters do hereby request for the passage of laws regulating the maintaining, promoting, building, hosting, supporting, sponsoring or connection in any way to any web site which promotes, encourages, panders, or solicits the sexual exploitation of children. These laws will apply equally to private, public or commercial enterprises whether they be individual or corporate. We, believe that the existence of these web sites encourages illegal acts against children of a sexually depraved nature; that the use of these sites serves no public or community benefit or utility; that the sole visitors of these sites are child predators or potential child predators; that these sites entice, incite or inflame the ill feelings of child predators; that these sites represent an obvious and concrete danger to our children. We think that no provider of internet services or any other private, public or commercial service that provide data storage space and/or connectivity to the Internet or to any local area network, should be allowed to legally host or offer any sort of service to any individual, web site or group that encourages sex crimes against children. This includes all web sites, services or individuals that represent children in a suggestively sexual manner, any support organization, web sites, blogs, audio or video service or hosting services that validate and promote to pedophiles that they continue with their criminal feelings towards children and any sort of pornography which is digitally altered, touched up or otherwise enhanced to make the people engaging in sex acts to look like children in a realistic way. We demand that such web sites be declared ILLEGAL within the USA, for the USA as well as the entire global community. We believe that because of this danger, the simple maintenance of a “child predator web site” constitutes a conspiracy to commit sex crimes against children, and this is so grievous in nature that it should be considered to be a felony crime. Therefore, we petition that the sanctions which follow be imposed against these web sites: 1) All individuals found to be involved in these web sites shall be fined $250,000, and have all computer equipment confiscated and given to a local school, 2) All individuals found to be involved shall be required to register as sex offenders, 3) All individuals found to be involved shall be prohibited from access to the internet, 4) All individuals found to be involved shall receive a 25 year sentence; being required to serve a mandatory 5 year sentence of incarceration, followed by 20 years of probation. This law aught to be called APRIL’S LAW after April Rowbury. April was raped and contracted a venereal disease at the age of six years old. Her rapist was convicted, yet merely served 12 months. This rapist was later caught, convicted and sentenced to only ten years in prison, for raping another child. He habitually used “pedophile websites” for 19 years, between these two assaults. |

Date: April 10, 2012 I was going to start placing direct links to my audio files hosted here [and on my other blogs], in response to the problems some people are having listening to them…and I did not believe this was going to be a problem. However…It appears Blog.com actively blocks this, and forces all audio media to be performed through it’s own, built in, media player. Apparently, video files are an exception to this [there is no built in video player, here]…and you can direct link to graphics files…but not audio. They have things set up here, to where if I make a classic HTML link to the files, another instance of their media player shows up, instead of the link…They also block accessing these files directly…So, providing you with the URL to the file, will lead you to a “404″ page, telling you the file is not found, or you are forbidden, etc. This blog host uses a built in media player, made with Flash software…Meaning, you need a currently up to date web browser, and you may have to download/install a plug-in, to get this feature to work. This leads to a quandary with those in the CL/TL community, who do not allow these features to be active on their own computers [for fear of security/infection dangers]. Very simply…I do not know what to advise anyone, except that this is a personal choice for every individual to make. However, these audio files are mostly non-essential [a lot of it is simple music], and I’m sure various people can live without experiencing it. For the record, nothing even remotely illegal occurs in any of these files…and in my opinion, it should not be especially compromising for anyone to listen to them, either. Because of it’s commonality, the standard I usually go by is Internet Explorer 9 [though I also check with Safari, Chrome, and Firefox, at least]…Things pretty well look/act the same [except for the inexplicable problems with FireFox], no matter what browser I am using…Admittedly, some of the graphics [ie: for the "sub-blog archive" links] may be a little off center, but I’m willing to live with slight imperfections…Trying to find workarounds to the coding conflicts here, can be a frustrating kick in the groin…At some point in time, you’ve tried and tried and tried…and the pursuit just isn’t worth it, anymore. I know a lot of people may decry this as heresy [since Firefox is the sweetheart of so many]…but my best advice, is to access my blog[s] through IE9, Safari or Chrome. I do take advantage of modern, online technology…Therefore, if you want to fully experience my blogs, you need to be willing to do the same [using the software and settings required]. I cannot tell anyone what to do, as this is a matter of “your” comfort level. If you don’t feel comfortable accessing my blog[s] in that way, then I respectfully understand…But, the trade off, is that the media here likely will not be available to you. I am made to wonder…what exactly is it that separates those of us who experience something sexual as a young person [ie: child] and just move on…from those who go haywire over it…

This subject matter deserves [and now more than ever, desperately needs] a fully rounded, complete and transparent representation, of all that it encompasses… …Nobody should live under fear of attack, for simply speaking about the complete range of realities. Yet, shamefully…the world we now live in, lacks respect for truth, transparency and integrity, when it comes to the issue of “Child Pornography”… Why?…Why?… The only way we will ever come to deeply understand this matter [and dealing with whatever problems might exist within it's world], is by being open and frank in the discussion of it. Those who would aggressively, and even maliciously, censor everything, represent an enormous part of the problem. This discussion needs and open, and safe, place to happen. Please also do note, that all pictures used in the banner for this sub-blog, contain nothing more than dolls, mannequins or drawings, with black “censor” lines strategically positioned in order to mimic censored pornographic images. No factual pornography, of any nature, was used…Nor was any human [live or dead] photographed. …I just want to put any potential objections or concerns to rest, right from the start. “RT reports on the latest examples of political correctness gone wild in the U.S. Cases, that could be on their way to making the country of the free – the United States of “I’m sorry”.
From media pundits and giggle fests, to advertisers trying to spice up an old concept like Oreos and milk, to sports managers praising Fidel Castro, to even political comedians mixing religion and female body parts – saying anything in public, even when obviously joking, has become a minefield.
“You say something of color, you tweet something of color, suddenly you have 15 people criticizing you in an attempt to take you down a notch,” said Raw Story Executive Editor Meghan Carpentier.
This has been pushing an increasing number of people into endless apologies.”
Anderson Cooper going into a giggle fit during a live broadcast, over the term “pussy willow”?…and people out there actually think they deserve an apology over it?!…
…While I have no idea what about “pussy willow” was so funny [I don't know the context it was presented in, either]…If it caused Anderson Cooper to launch into a spontaneous giggling fit, I’d have to suggest Anderson has led a rather sheltered life…A pussy willow, is a type of tree…I first learned about them as a kid, myself…Yet, I never found it anything to laugh about…I don’t know…maybe Anderson has sex on the mind?…
While there is at least one incident I am aware of, that Anderson Cooper should be apologising profusely over, and working tirelessly to rectify [because he played a crucial role, in this outrage]…I’d say giggling over “pussy willow”, is not something anyone should be expected to apologise over…
In fact, I think those people out there who expect apologies from anyone, over any little, trivial thing, are small minded, shallow jerks…and given their growing numbers, they are one of societies most annoying and outlandish problems…They’ve created a culture of suing and censorship, which impinges on the rights and needs of untold numbers…some of whom have quite serious issues to discuss, protest, defend and even champion.
Their trivial sense of being offended, is becoming a threat to free speech…when it has never had any right to be such.
…And get a load of the 50 words, the New York Board of Education tried to ban, in the name of protecting students from “being offended”…including such horrible words as “dinosaur”, “divorce” and “birthday”…
I’ve been saying this for a long, long time…
…The USA has been headed down an absolutely pathetic, yet alarming, path…One in which you cannot say anything even slightly controversial, without some ridiculously fragile minded [or just devious] person, screaming and throwing a fit.
I think, these people who are chronically offended, likely have some sort of psychological disorder going on with them…I really do…and the rest of us should not be expected to remain silent, just to appease their personal deficits.
There is no such thing, as “a right not to be offended”…
…and nobody deserves to be rewarded, because they were offended…
Being offended, gives you free license for nothing…
…And anyone who thinks different, should take a walk in my shoes, and get to see the kinds of things people have done to me, and the indignities I have weathered [not to forget the demented threats, of all flavors, to my body and life]…I’d be willing to bet, that what most of these chronic criers are screaming about, could never even begin to compare with the kinds of things a BoyLover or Girl-Lover suffers, as part of a typical day…
…which is a large part of the reason, why I get so fed up with all these thin skinned, delicate and fragile, weak minded people, who think they are owed something, because they don’t like what was said…or how things were divided up…or the context in which something was presented…or…or…or…
The world is a mean and cruel place…Trust me, I know…and nobody is ever going to be able to sue, or badger, meanness and cruelty out of the world…
The best we can do, is contribute to our own sphere of influence within the world, and try to make that kind and nice.
Despite uncommon levels of justification to do so…I do not spend my time crying a river, over what others have done to me, or demanding some sort of retribution for it…
…There are other things in this world, and my life, which are more important…and which really do deserve my time and attention…I don’t have time for a bruised ego, or “woe is me!”…
It is shameful, to witness just how many people are out there…who not only have a completely opposite outlook…but who thrive on this passive aggressive, crap…who pathetically act injured, over the shallowness of a bruised ego…and who thrive on “woe is me!”…
Self entitlement over being offended, is a problem which has gotten well out of hand…to say the least.
